This piece is made up of not only innovative material but also technique. I have been experimenting with wearable work different from the statement pieces I have made in past years in an attempt to better foster that connection with the audience that many an artist craves. I am doing this by considering every facet of utility and or the causal daily aesthetic. Embedded in the wood is not only a channel for a hidden clasp, but also an inventive and reinforced connection method between the wood and ball chain. A faceted onyx stone is held in place by an applied gypsy and tension setting fit carved out of the wood interior. The back and front is also interchangeable as the shapes referenced on one side are the opposite color on the other side.
